Unit 2

They go to enjoy snorkeling, swimming and looking at the coral reefs.

They are oil and pearls.
4.What are pearls?
They are small – shiny ball like gems formed in the shell of oysters.
5. How did workers prepare for pearl fishing?
Workers placed dhow along the sea shore. They filled any holes with pieces of oily cotton and spread shark oil and powder over the main part of the ship.
6. What did divers wear?
They wear a wrap-around skirt or a black suit, nose clip, a neck basket and a toe anchor.
Unit 3
1- Who are The Nazca People?
They are people who lived 2000 years ago in the desert of Peru in south America.
2- How did The Nazca draw the large pictures?
They took the red sand of the surface of the desert to show the yellow rock beneath.
3- Why did The Nazca drew these pictures?
No one knows for sure.
4- How can people, animal and plants survive in the desert?
People must have water and keep cool. Animals and plants adapt in order to survive.
5- Animals and plants adapt to life in the desert. Give examples.
Cacti are full of liquid, some animals never drink and others have special skin to protect them against heat, or
layers of fat for surviving the cold and many only come at night.
